Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Reverent Lutheran ("Site," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Service.

Description of Service

Reverent Lutheran provides a platform for the confessional Lutheran community, including:

• Directory of Lutheran churches, schools, and businesses
• Event calendar for Lutheran community events
• Liturgical calendar and prayer resources
• Daily office and devotional tools
• Private dashboard tools for prayer schedules, intentions, formation goals, reading plans, and journal notes
• News and educational resources
• User accounts and personalization features

Some account, submission, notification, and mobile-sync features may be limited, disabled, or phased in during launch while they receive additional testing.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Service. By using our Service, you represent that:

• You are at least 13 years old
• You have the authority to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

User Accounts

Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You provide false information
• Your account is inactive for an extended period
• We discontinue the Service

You may request account deletion through the contact page.

Private Devotional Tools

Account dashboard tools are provided to help organize personal prayer and Christian formation. Private prayer tracking and related dashboard features require confirmed-email opt-in and renewed agreement to the current Terms and Privacy Policy before those private formation records are stored.

You agree to use these tools responsibly and to avoid storing highly sensitive pastoral, medical, legal, financial, emergency, or third-party personal details.

These tools are not a substitute for pastoral care, emergency services, medical care, legal advice, or professional counseling. Public prayer and devotional resources remain available without requiring an account.

Public Profiles

Public profile publishing is not currently available while privacy, moderation, and account controls are completed. Profile-related settings may appear in account pages, but users cannot publish public profile pages until the feature is intentionally enabled.

User Content and Submissions

Public directory, event, and resource submissions are available only when the corresponding launch gate is enabled. If submission forms are paused, imported, reviewed, or administrator-managed content may still appear on the Site, and the contact form remains available for corrections, concerns, and requests.

Directory Listings

When directory submissions are enabled and you submit a listing (church, school, business), you agree that:

• All information is accurate and current
• You have authority to list the organization
• The listing meets our published criteria
• The listing is subject to approval by our staff

Events

When event submissions are enabled and you submit an event, you agree that:

• All information is accurate and current
• The event is relevant to the Lutheran community
• You have authority to post on behalf of the organizer
• The event complies with our guidelines

General Content Standards

All content you submit must:

• Be accurate and not misleading
• Not violate any laws or regulations
• Not infringe on intellectual property rights
• Not contain harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Not contain spam, advertising, or promotional material (except approved business listings)
• Align with Lutheran confessional teaching and values

Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us:

• A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license
• To use, reproduce, modify, and display your content
• For the purpose of operating and promoting our Service
• This license may continue after account deletion where needed for previously published public submissions, archival integrity, or ordinary site operation

Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that:

• Violates these Terms
• Violates our submission criteria
• Is reported by users as inappropriate
• We determine is harmful to our community

Listing Approval and Removal

Approval Process

• Directory listings are subject to review and approval
• We typically review submissions within 1-3 business days
• We may request additional information before approval
• We may decline listings that do not meet our criteria

Reasons for Removal

We may remove listings if:

• Information is inaccurate or outdated
• The organization departs from confessional Lutheran teaching
• The listing violates our criteria
• We receive credible complaints
• Legal or safety concerns arise

No Guarantee of Listing

• Submission does not guarantee approval
• We reserve the right to decline any listing without explanation
• We may limit the number of listings in certain categories

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Transmit viruses or malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access
• Scrape or collect data from the Service
• Interfere with the operation of the Service
• Use the Service to promote heterodox teaching
• Post spam, advertising, or solicitations (except approved listings)

Disclaimers

No Endorsement

• Listing on our directory does not constitute endorsement
• We do not verify all claims made by listed organizations
• Users should conduct their own due diligence

No Professional Advice

• Our Service provides informational and devotional resources
• Content is not professional theological, legal, or medical advice
• Consult appropriate professionals for specific guidance

Service Provided "As Is"

We provide the Service "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reverent Lutheran shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or errors
• User content or third-party content
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid us (if any)

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Reverent Lutheran from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of others
• Content you submit to the Service

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you by:

• Posting updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending email notification for material changes

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms.
