Seasonal Home Devotion

A prayer corner can be adjusted with small seasonal markers: a cloth, candle color, hymn, collect, printed card, or lectionary reading. These cues should serve the Word rather than become the focus.

Families may add Advent wreath prayers, Epiphany home blessing, Lenten fasting and almsgiving, Easter candle lighting, and daily offices adapted to the season.

Adapting Your Prayer Life

  • Use seasonal collects and hymns.
  • Follow the Calendar for readings and commemorations.
  • Connect the weekly prayer cycle to the current season.
  • Observe fasting days with pastoral freedom and wisdom.
  • Keep Christ and the Gospel at the center of every practice.
