Submission requirements that preserve the confessional character of the Reverent Lutheran directory.

Church Listings

Core Requirements

Confessional Lutheran

Must maintain faithfulness to Scripture and subscribe to the Lutheran Confessions (Book of Concord) as a true and correct exposition of Scripture.

Historic Liturgy (Article 24 of the Augsburg Confession)

The congregation must be committed to the exclusive use of the Historic Liturgy of the Church, celebrating the Divine Service / Mass in accordance with Article 24 of the Augsburg Confession.

Examples may include the Common Service and the historic Lutheran orders received in established Lutheran hymnals and service books, with stable rites rather than congregation-specific worship programs.

IMPORTANT: Churches offering contemporary services alongside traditional Divine Service are not permitted.

Not Permitted:

  • Contemporary worship services.
  • Disposable liturgies unique to one congregation.
  • Creative worship orders that vary from week to week.

Weekly Communion

Must celebrate the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day as normative practice.

Closed Communion

Must practice closed communion, communing only those who confess the same faith.

Authorization Required

You must be a member, pastor, elder, chairman, or other authorized representative.

School Listings

  • K-12 schools, colleges, and seminaries are eligible.
  • Preschool/daycare-only organizations are not listed.
  • Church affiliation or confessional standing must be verifiable.
  • New/launching schools may be submitted before full accreditation.

Business Listings

  • Owner should be in good standing at a confessional Lutheran congregation.
  • Church/pastor verification details are requested for review.
  • Public church-affiliation display is optional.
  • All details must be current and accurate.

What Helps Review

To make review clear and fair, submissions should include public evidence where available: a church website, service schedule, bulletin or order of service, communion statement, school/church affiliation details, and contact information for an authorized representative. Corrections or clarifications may be sent through the contact form.
