Overview
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is a confessional and liturgical Lutheran (LCMS) congregation in Central Florida, a member of the FL/GA District. Description: Our congregation follows the Historic One-Year Lectionary, the Common Service (TLH, LSB Setting 3), and administers the Lord's Supper every Sunday. Midweek Advent and Lent services (Wednesdays @ 7 PM) are Divine Services. We also practice Closed Communion-the biblical, historical, faithful, and loving practice of communing only those who repent of all sin and publicly confess the truth of God's Word. Every sermon is faithful to Holy Scripture, rightly dividing Law and Gospel. Sermons: Click here to listen to recorded sermons. Bible Studies: • Sunday Morning Bible Study | 10:45 AM • Sunday School for Children | 10:45 AM • Midweek Morning Bible Study | Wednesdays @ 9 AM • First Communion Class | Thursdays @ 4 PM• Confirmation Class | Thursdays @ 5:15 PM • Adult Instruction Class| 12-Week Course each summer • "Theology on Tap" | Every 3rd Thursday @ 7 PM (at HomeState Brewing Company, Winter Garden, FL) Closed Communion:If you desire to receive the Lord's Supper, contact our pastor at least one day before the service. Call or email as soon as you know you plan to attend. If that is not possible, arrive at least 30 minutes before the service so you can speak with him in person. Introduce yourself and confess your faith. If you arrive late, do not assume you may commune, even if you belong to the LCMS. The Lord's Supper is not taken by personal decision. Christ gives it through the pastor, who serves under God's authority as a "steward of the mysteries" (1 Corinthians 4:1). He must hear your confession before placing Christ's Body and Blood before you (1 Corinthians 11).Make note: LCMS membership does not guarantee admission to the altar. Our pastor is responsible for the souls under his care and must discern your confession before communing you.If you are not admitted on your first Sunday, speak with our pastor. He will guide you, teach you if needed, and admit you to the Sacrament when he is confident that your confession aligns with Christ's Word.
