Overview
150 years strong, Saint John is a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod centered in Jesus Christ and His gracious gifts and embodying His love as we joyously serve our families, schools, workplaces, and communities. We gather together each Lord's Day at 9:00am for the Divine Service, followed by Bible Class and Sunday School. We are a liturgical congregation, preach Christ crucified, and practice closed communion. We also offer a midweek Bible study, Book of Concord study, men's Bible breakfast, women's Bible study, a youth group, and a variety of fellowship events and activities. We host a young singles retreat each summer and a theological conference for pastors and laity each fall. Whether you are moving to the Sycamore/DeKalb area, attending Northern Illinois University (NIU), or merely passing through, join us in receiving our Lord's gracious gifts in Word and Sacrament. Sycamore is a great place to live; contact our pastor if he can be of any help to you in learning more about jobs, schools, the community, etc.
