Overview
Reformation is a Confessional Lutheran Church that follows the Divine Service as printed in the hymnal. Congregational use of the hymnal is encouraged, with the order of service printed on the right side of the bulletin for insertion into the back of the book. Many members bring their own gift-edition LSBs. The service is typically sung, with the pastor and congregation chanting portions of the liturgy. Seminary students assist in leading the service.Divine Service Setting 3 is the default setting, used primarily during the Pentecost and Epiphany seasons, while other settings are employed as appropriate to the liturgical season. Matins is retained, and Compline is offered on Wednesday evenings, with Evening Prayer or Vespers taking its place during Advent and Lent. The church also observes major festivals, including days such as the Circumcision and Naming of Our Lord, Epiphany, the Presentation, and Easter Vigil.
